Day 9…I Lost Another Pound!

DAY 9 - January 9, 2008
Today I jumped put of bed again and went
straight to the gym. It was on the cold side
for Las Vegas…About 29 degrees this morning…
Anyway I went right to the tread mill…
At about the 30 minute mark, I could feel the
blisters on both my feet start to hurt again.
That made walking the remaining 30 minutes a
little painful…
Today I also worked out with some weights
and also did 3 sets of stomach crunches…
My trainer, Scott Sanchez is coming to town
tomorrow and we will be sitting down and
creating a full detailed exercise plan.

Day 8…Back on track.

DAY 8…January 8, 2008
Loading...This is the first morning that when my alarm
went off I didn’t hit the snooze button.
I got right up at 6:30 put on my gym clothes and
was out the door in 10 minutes.
Starting Weight: 348.5
Todays Weight: 334
Total Weight Loss: 14.5 pounds
Exercise:
Treadmill: 60 minutes
Speed: 2-5-3.0 mph
Miles: 2.69
Calories burned: 450
Blood Pressure: 124/80
Heart Beat: 72
I am really excited to see my blood pressure
going down. This is really good! What a difference
a week makes!

Day 7…I Gained 2 pounds!

Day 7…January 7, 2008

The battle of the bulge continues! Yesterday was a crazy and busy day…One of the goals I had for the new year was to put
on a Goal Setting Workshop for the folks at my church.I had to be at the church for both services to
announce it so I didn’t get the chance to go to
the gym first thing in the morning…
My plan was to go the gym after The Goal Setting Workshop
which was from 1-4.
We had a small turn out but the seminar went well.
I say we, and by that I mean, Vickie Pieper, my girl
friend and me…
By the time my workshop was over, I noticed my knee
was bothering me and decided because I was on my feet
for over 3 hours I will just weight in and not do any
walking. I had injured my knee a few months back and
do not want to re-injure it….
I noticed…
Being at church all day through me off my eating schedule…
By the time I had finished The Goal Setting Workshop I was
starving. I was really hungry. I also realized I did not
drink enough water through out the day. Big mistake!
So I went to my gym to weighed in and was blown away that I
had lost another 3.5 pounds!
Then after weighing in went home to pick Vickie up and then
we went to dinner…I had an orange juice and bowl of War Wanton soup.
Plus about 5 large glasses of water…
So this morning I went to the gym and weighed in and I
gained back 2.5 pounds.
Starting weight: 348.5
Todays weight: 335.5
At first I was a bit shock of the weight gain…But I’ve been
working hard at my eating and working out consistently.
I started my diet and exercise on Tuesday January 1.
And it’s been 7 days I’ve lost 13 pounds. That’s still fantastic.
I did have an extra food bar and orange. No JUNK FOOD.
Besides that, I didn’t go off my diet so I’ll just have to keep a close eye.
May the soup had more salt and made me retain more water…
Whatever…
I’m feeling good and fell like I am really on track…
In regards to The Goal Workshop…Yes, I offered it to the
people in my church, but the fact is, I needed to do for my
own goals too!
My Weight Goal For 2008?
I would like to be down to 225lbs by 12-31-2008.

DAY 4 …I Want a Hot Dog!

DAY 4: January 4, 2008
Loading...Yesterday was a challenging day, specifically
after 7:30 pm…Food cravings…
About an hour after dinner I was watching Donald Trumps
Celebrity Aprentice Show…On the show they were selling
New York City Hot Dogs!
As I was watching, it braught me back to the days when
I lived on the east coast and went to New York…I almost
always baught a hot dog and or a big pretzel from a street
vendor when I was there…
As I was watching the show I realized I started craving
having a hot dog…The present diet I am on will not
allow that. But I was actually getting ancy over
wanting this stupid freakin hot dog…
So I turned off the TV and practiced my guitar…I went
to bed early. Slept pretty well. I am surprised I have not had
any headachs from NOT driniking diet coke, which I usually
drank 3-5 a day.
Any way, here are my stats for the DAY 4…
Starting Weight: 348.5 lbs.
Todays Weight: 339 lbs.
Exercise:
Treadmill: 45 Minutes
Speed: 2.5 -3.0 mph
Miles: 2.02
Calories Burned: 386

I don’t know why my heart beat is up??

Day 3…I Didn’t Want To Get Up Today!
DAY 3: January 3, 2008 I had my alarm set for 7am to go to the gym

Then at 7:15 I hit the snooze button.
Then at 7:30 I hit the snooze button.
Then at 7:45 I hit the snooze button again!
I just didn’t want to get up and go to the gym.
It is cold for Las Vegas and I just did’nt want
to get all dressed up and drive to the gym…
I heard that little voice inside saying, ah,
just stay in bed and then shower and start working…
At 8am my alarm went off again and I jumped out of
bed.Rushed to get my gym cloths on and drove to the gym.
As soon as I get there I weigh in…
Starting Weight: 348.5 lbs.
Todays Weight: 341 lbs. (Hip-Hip Hurray!)
Yes, I lost 5 pounds since yesterday!
Exercise:
Treadmill: 47 Minutes
Speed: 2.5 -3.0 mph
Miles: 2.01
Calories Burned: 389
Blood Pressure: 137/91
Heart Beat: 89
I was shocked that I lost 5 pounds in a day,
but I’m happy.

Day 1…I Lost 100 Pounds This Year!

My Fat TO Fit Journey Begins!
Loading...Didn’t that headline have a nice ring to it…
I lost 100 Pounds!
The reality is, I am just starting my weight lossjourney once again. Since August of 2001 till the present
I have worked at my weightlosss off and on.
I wasn’t always fat or a big guy as some people call me.
Back in 1998 I quit smoking and the following 6 months
I gained 50 pounds! Then about 2 weeks after that something
really ticked my off and I started smoking again…
Then as I was looking over the Las Vegas strip from the
top of the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, I said to myself
now I’m just a fat smoker! Crap!
Well I stopped smoking again and gained another 75 pounds
over the next few years. Then 2 weeks before 9/11 I started
the Atkins diet the first time and lost about 25 pounds.
I was excited and motivated that I had found something
that was going to work for me…
Then September 11, 2001 happened…I remember saying to my girlfriend, ok diets over we’re going to
PF Changs for dinner, where I went off my diet, big time.
I’ve been on a yo-yo ever since. Yes, I have had people
offering to help me. Yes, I have had certain things or events
inspire for a time.
It hit me over this past Christmas that I have been really struggling with my weight for close to 10 years and I need to change.
So, this Christmas I made yet another committment to myself, my girlfriend Vickie, and a few freinds that i would give it another try.
Over the next 101 Days I will post my daily Exercise and
Food diary. I’m going to share the good, bad and ugly!
With that being said…
I will have photo’s and Video posted on a regular basis
so make sure to come back and visit me…Ok!
My Goal is to lose at least 100 pounds by July 2008 and
then climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzenia in East Africa.
MT. Kilimanjaro stands 19,343 FT and is the tallest mountain
in Africa…
Why do I want to climb Mt Kilimanajro?You’ll have to come back see another day to
see what inspired to want to accomplish this goal.
Today I did go to the gym.

Time: 20 minutes
Miles: .89
Calories Burned: 116
Blood Presssure: 161/95
Heart Rate: 91
Sat in jacuzzi for 15 minutes and then did a Steam room for 5minutes.
